Entry to Employment (e2e)

e2e is a national work based programme aimed at young people and funded by the Learning and Skills Council. The e2e programmes are delivered by training providers who work with the Learning and Skills Council. The programmes are aimed at people who for a variety of reasons are not in employment, education or training and enable them to progress onto Apprenticeships, sustained employment or further learning opportunities.

How does it work?

e2e is all about the individual, so each programme is tailored to fit the learner’s needs. It is not a fixed length programme, but will involve between 16 and 30 hours attendance per week, depending on the individual and the nature of their programme.

Learning takes place in a range of settings, including classroom type activities, work experience and work placements, one to one mentoring and group activities.

The programme aims to help those young people who are not yet ready to enter an Apprenticeship or employment directly and progress them into a chosen career option.

How can employers help?

Part of the e2e programme involves work experience via a work placement which is organised by the Training Provider. Employers can help by providing a work placement for a young person to allow them to increase their work experience. Work placements are flexible and have no fixed duration as the length of time is based on the young person’s needs and requirements.
