Click here to view and download a PDF of the Aim Higher CEG Resources Pack (344 KB) Further details about this pack:The Careers, Education and Guidance (CEG) Pack, created by the Connexions Curriculum Development Team, should provide a valuable resource for practitioners and help to embed Aimhigher into a whole school approach. This will involve fitting the Aimhigher curriculum into the planning, implementation and monitoring of all current schemes of work, often looking beyond careers education, the work-related curriculum, Citizenship and PSHE to activities being delivered in the core curriculum as well. For many institutions, much of this work already exists unrecognised or under a different name. To develop an embedded Aimhigher curriculum it is important, firstly, to map all the information and experiences currently available to young people, to encourage their involvement in continued learning up to and into higher education. This introductory section of the CEG Pack is designed to enable the planner to undertake this process. The Careers Education and Guidance National Framework has been analysed and compared with the five themes of the Connexions Nottinghamshire Aimhigher Curriculum at Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5. Planners will be able to see where the two areas fit together and assess where work is currently being delivered in their institution. Once this has been done and gaps identified, ideas for possible activities are given. The Resources section lists useful materials for lesson and activity planning. We hope you will find the whole pack a comprehensive tool. |
