Wheels to Work is a moped leasing scheme aimed at helping young people or the long term unemployed to get over the initial problem of getting to work, training or education. The project aims to offer a transport solution where no suitable transport alternatives exist.
Conditions of eligibility for the scheme are:-
- The applicant must live in Nottinghamshire
- Must be aged 16-24, or have been unemployed for at least 6 months
- Have the offer of a job, training course or place in education
- No suitable alternative means of transport to access these opportunities
- Must live in, or be trying to access a rural area
- Successful candidates will receive a moped (for twelve months after completing their Compulsory Basic Training (at no cost to the individual).
- Safety equipment will also be provided. Insurance, tax and servicing are covered by the scheme. A contribution of £3 per week will cover general tyre wear.
