Connexions Bus is back on the road in Gedling

The Gedling team of Connexions Nottinghamshire Personal Advisers are taking to the road on June 28th, in a bid to ensure that all young people have access to the Connexions advice and guidance service.

Connexions Bus photoSince its inception in Nottinghamshire in 2001, the Connexions service has broadened its reach across the county with innovative ways to engage young people. The Connexions’ state-of-the-art single-decker bus is an added extra and is equipped to offer all of the facilities you might typically find in one of Connexions 8 local centres.

Facilities include; online ‘job centre’, Apprenticeship details and education advice, Connexions careers library and a team of Personal Advisers on hand to offer face-to-face advice.

The Connexions Bus will be available at various points around the Gedling borough and staff are hoping to encourage all young people and their parents and carers to come along and find out about the opportunities available to them. Advice will be available on the bus from 10.30am to 4.30pm on the following dates and venues:

Venues:

28th June: Arnold Leisure Centre Car Park

29th June: Calverton Leisure Centre Car Park

30th June: Netherfield (by the side of the Co-op)

1st July: Carlton (Richard Herrod Leisure Centre)

“The Connexions Bus is a fantastic resource,” said Debbie Clarke, Connexions Team Manager for Gedling, “It helps us meet the needs of all young people. Getting the Connexions Service out there into the community gives us the opportunity to reach as many young people as possible and provide them with whatever information and support they may require.”
