The 'Directory of Alternative Provision' was launched on May 25 at the 14-19 Greater Nottingham Conference.Click here to open and download your copy (PDF - 343 KB). Alternative Provision Update, October 2004. Copies were also made available to Greater Nottingham schools at the Connexions Resources Fairs on May 25th/26th to try to ensure that most of our schools get copies in a short space of time. This LSC/LEAs/Connexions Directory is aimed at schools in Greater Nottingham to give both details of the actual provision and some best practice guidance to help improve the management and outcomes of that provision. Any schools in the Greater Nottingham area that were not represented at either of the above events will get copies issued directly. Although the coverage of the opportunities isn't yet comprehensive in the Directory, ongoing work plans include extending the information on the provision (as details are supplied by more organisations) and keeping the data current. So, the Directory's producers would be pleased to hear from you if you can forward any contact details for additional providers. With regard to quality, details have been entered as supplied by the organisations, but this is by no means a recommendation of quality. The plan is to develop a quality framework for Alternative Provision. Hopefully, this will then start to give everyone more confidence that the provision is working with the students to help them achieve their potential. For more information, or if you have details of additional providers, please get in touch with Lynne Richardson (Connexions' Alternative Curriculum Development Adviser) - Tel 01623 821563.
