Welcome

from Jean Pardoe, Chief Executive

"Jean Pardoe, Chief ExecutiveWelcome to our Connexions website for employers, parents and partners. I hope that you find the site user-friendly and can easily find all the information you're looking for.

Connexions provides quality guidance, support and personal development services for all 13-19 year olds in Nottinghamshire. Connexions Personal Advisers, based in schools, colleges, Connexions centres and in the community, can provide help and advice on a range of issues from careers, employment, training and education to health, housing, money and relationships.

Supporting our face-to-face Personal Adviser service is a wealth of information services both paper-based and online.

Our online resources are an important part of our strategy to provide quality information to young people, parents, employers and partners. In addition to this website, we also host a number of other sites aimed at particular audiences – these are all accessible from the homepage of this website. They are:

This site – www.cnxnotts.co.uk – is our gateway to all these key websites and they can be accessed via the homepage.

On this site you should particularly look out for:

At Connexions, our vision is to significantly reduce youth unemployment in Nottinghamshire and raise achievement at all levels. To do this we recognise that we must work with and support partner organisations, particularly those who provide opportunities for young people, parents, employers and young people.

Connexions Nottinghamshire is now part of a bigger organisation – Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Futures – and this will mean that we are able to provide even more help and support to our county’s young people. Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Futures is company owned and managed by Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire County Councils.

We have recorded some impressive achievements in the last year, not least smashing all the Government targets and encouraging increasing numbers of young people back into Education, Employment and Training. We hope to further improve this year and look forward to continuing to work closely with young people, professionals, parents, carers and our partner organisations to ensure that more choice is available for all young people.

I hope you find this website useful and I look forward to working with you to ensure our young people progress and aspire to be the best they can be!"
