What do Personal Advisers do?

With Connexions young people get their own Personal Adviser or ‘P.A.’

The P.A. will:

• help young people find the right answers and support their needs
• not judge young people or tell them what to do
• be there to listen and to work with young people
• be on young people's side.

P.A.s work with other organisations like youth, health, counselling and drug services.

P.A.s don’t just help with problems. They can also help young people:

• get on and make the most of their interests and skills
• build on their strengths
• tackle any weaknesses they may have

Where are Personal Advisers seen?

In school, college, at work or where young people train. At the local Connexions Centre and they also work in the local community.

As part of the Connexions Board and other activities, young people are helping us to…

• interview and select our staff
• design our Connexions Centres
• design and write our leaflets and web site
• develop and improve our services
